ISLAMABAD: The federal government, after completing second inquiry into the 10-day petrol crisis, has suspended four more Pakistan State Oil (PSO) officials.
A 20-page report has been presented after investigation, conducted by PM’s Special Assistant on Parliamentary Affairs Barrister Zafarullah Khan and former IG Tariq Khosa. According to acting petroleum secretary Arshad Mirza, the suspended officials include PSO Deputy Managing Director (Operations) Jehangir Ali Shah, Senior General Manager (international marketing) Dr Nazir Zaidi, General Manager (retail) Asif Aslam and Acting General Manager of North (Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa) Mansoor Ismail.
Dr Zaidi has also been shortlisted for the job of PSO Managing Director, that is currently held by Shahid Islam, a former executive of the PIA.
The names of some of the suspended executives were already on the exit control list because of separate investigations by the Federal Investigation Agency, the sources said.
