DUBAI: Director of Dubai Customs, Ahmed Mahboob Musabih, has recognised EFQM Excellence Model certificate holders of DC employees. It saw the participation of as many as 21 employees from various DC departments.
His Excellency Ahmed Mahboob Musabih, Director of Dubai Customs, has recognised EFQM Excellence Model certificate holders of DC employees. Accredited by the British Quality Foundation, the training program was carried out by DC in cooperation with Abu Dhabi International Center for Organisational Excellence. It saw the participation of as many as 21 employees from various DC departments.
Ahmed Mahboob handed out the EFQM certificates to graduating employees at a ceremony held at Dubai Customs headquarter. Anhar El Manialawy came in first place, followed by Hisham Khalifa and Nazih Faraj, Jamila Abu Al Maleh and Fatima Al Suwaidi all came in third place.
DC Director also honoured Prof. Hadi Al Tijani, CEO of Abu Dhabi International Center for Organisational Excellence, in appreciation of the Center’s valuable cooperation.
After completion of the program, trainees received an expert diploma of the BQF accredited Excellence Model.
“Dubai Customs pays utmost attention to training its cadre and honing their skills, in line with the vision of H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, for government departments to be leaders in delivering public services that ensure the happiness of clients. We in DC believe that excellence and innovation are an everyday culture and practice,” said Musabih.
H.E. Ahmed Mahboob noted that the 6-month training program provided trainees with information on total quality, EFQM Excellence Model, and the cause and effect relationship between what an organisation does and the results it achieves.
H.E. Ahmed Mahboob said that the efforts exerted by Dubai Customs in the area of excellence were crowned with four of the 18th edition of DGEP awards.
Emphasising the importance of excellence in the UAE, Prof. Hadi Al Tijani said that the prudent leadership of the UAE recognised the importance of excellence and innovation at an early stage and thus became one of the pioneering nations in the world to embrace excellence. “There are thirteen organizational excellence awards in the Middle East; nine of them are hosted in the UAE alone.”
