26,400 maritime jobs: Danish ports create total value of 58 billion kroner

COPENHAGEN: Danish ports create an annual total value of 58 billion kroner to the Danish society. The OECD has for five years analyzed some of the world’s largest port cities to find a formula for coexistence, leading to economic growth through a well-integrated strategic cooperation between city and port.

“When the government’s growth plan for the Blue Denmark is to be evaluated in the spring of 2015, OECD will provide port analyzes specific input on the blue growth agenda. By supporting the development of Danish ports, the OECD to achieve growth and jobs in Denmark. So the growth plan Blue Denmark must consider this,” says Gitte Lillelund Bech, director of the Danish Ports.
