292 grams drugs seized, 5 including 2 Nigerian arrested

ABUJA: Five persons including two Nigerian nationals have been arrested for allegedly trafficking drugs worth around Rs one crore, in separate cases, police said.

A total of 60 grammes of cocain, 200 grammes heroin and 32 kg of ganja. Total worth of seized drugs is estimated to be around Rs 1 crore in international market, police said.

In the first incident, Nigerian national, Ezeafulukwe (35), was arrested on March 11, when he was going to deliver a consignment of cocaine near Prachin Shiv Mandir at Shakarpur area. “Following tip-off, a trap was laid. Ezeafulukwe was arrested with 20 grammes of fine quality cocaine,” police said.

“During the interrogation Ezeafulukwe, told the cops that earlier he used to import liquor. He suffered huge losses in liquor business and came to Mumbai in October, 2013 on a business visa, where he started exporting textiles to Nigeria.

“Later in February 2014, he shifted to Delhi and started drug trafficking with a fellow Nigerian,” said a senior police official.

Second Nigerian national, Mike (27) was arrested when he was tracked near a bus stand at Panchkuian Road. He came here to deliver a consignment of cocaine. Cops arrested him with 40 gm of fine quality cocaine.

“Mike, used to stay near Khirki Extension in Delhi. He came to Delhi in June 2012, on medical visa and was facing financial crisis. Another Nigerian national helped him in drug trafficking,” he added.

In the third incident, Seemapuri resident, Moinuddin (29) was arrested with 200 grams of fine quality heroin near Nigambodh Ghat on March 12.

In the last case, cops arrested Boda Lalu (27) and Bhukya Linggar (29) from Mayur Vihar Phase-I on March 12. Police got information about their movement and a trap was laid following which they were arrested near the metro station to deliver 32 kg of Ganja.
