Thirty ships laden with various products are expected to arrive at the ports in Lagos before the end of this month, the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) has said.
The NPA stated this in its daily publication, ‘’Shipping Position’’ issued on Wednesday in Lagos.It said that the ships would arrive at the ports between May 6 and May 30.
According to the publication, 12 of the ships are expected to sail in with containers, while food products will be brought in by nine other ships.The food products expected on the vessels, the NPA stated, included rice in bags, bulk malt, bulk sugar, frozen fish and buckwheat.
It said that four ships would sail into the ports with general cargo and petroleum products, while the remaining five vessels would bring in vehicles.
Meanwhile, it stated that 13 ships were currently berthed at the Lagos ports.According to NPA, eight of the ships sailed in with petroleum products, which included petrol, kerosene and diesel.
‘’The remaining five ships brought in rice, frozen fish and containers,’’ it added. (NAN)
