JEFFERSON CITY: A Florida man is in custody in the Cole County Jail after a traffic stop on I-70 led to the discovery of 70 pounds of marijuana in his vehicle.

According to Corporal Scott White of the Missouri State Highway Patrol, a trooper stopped an eastbound SUV for following too closely on I-70 in Callaway County.  Inconsistencies during the traffic stop led the trooper to ask permission to search the vehicle.  The driver, 34-year-old Christopher Asbury of Palmetto, Florida, refused the request, prompting the trooper to bring in a dog, which provided probable cause to search the vehicle.
