HANOI: The two Cagayan De Oro City-based traders, charged by the Bureau of Customs (BoC) for their illegal import of 1.3 million kilos of glutinous rice last year, pulled off another smuggling attempt at the Mindanao Container Terminal (MCT) in Tagoloan, Misamis Oriental.

Agents of the Customs Intelligence and Investigation Service (CIIS) were able to intercept their 82 containers of agricultural products worth P140 million at MCT after these were put on alert status because of the “general declarations of kitchenware, houseware, tiles and mix condiments.”
