NIGERIA: Nine ships laden with petrol have arrived Lagos ports, waiting to berth at the various oil terminals. The Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) stated this in its daily publication- `Shipping Position’ – made available to newsmen on Friday in Lagos.
The document stated that eight other ships had arrived at the ports, waiting to berth with bulk gas, general cargo, bulk rice, base oil and frozen fish. NPA explained that 31 other ships were expected to arrive at the ports from Sept. 11 to Sept 30.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the contents of the expected ships are: general cargo, bulk sugar, frozen fish, bulk wheat, bulk salt and empty.
According to the document, other expected ships will sail in with containers, containers, bulk rice, bulk gypsum, diesel and petrol.
NAN reports that 23 other ships are discharging bulk wheat, bulk soya bean, bulk rice, soda ash, containers, truck heads, general cargo, fertiliser, repaired vessel, , frozen fish, petrol, bulk gas and kerosene.
