TOKYO: Fans have been eagerly awaiting the latest installment of the legendary fighting game franchise ‘Street Fighter’, and now Capcom has announced that it will soon release ‘Street Fighter 5’ for PlayStation 4 and PC.

Venture Capital Post says Capcom is already working on the upcoming game and is currently busy perfecting the graphics of ‘Street Fighter’ with a view to present the players with an overwhelming game.

Crossmap quotes game producer Yoshinori Ono saying, “We’ve been hard at work on Street Fighter 5 and we promise this game, this product will be the one that brings fighting games into the next era.”

As far as gameplay is concerned, ‘Street Fighter’ will bring in two completely new mechanics – the EX meter and the Revenge meter. The Ex meter will found at the base of the screen and it will fill up as the fighter is damaged more. However, Crossmap mentioned that players can also make use of the EX meter to present a customized power stance. On the other hand, the Revenge meter, which will be found at the top of the screen, enhances deflected ultra combos.

Ono, meanwhile, told Polygon, “We were able, with ‘Street Fighter X Tekken,’ to develop new netcode that was a generational leap above what we’d done previously but were unable to work that code into Ultra [Street Fighter 4] since the underlying tech is so different. I’d certainly like to continue breaking new ground in this arena.”

Capcom is eager to consider the suggestions as well as feedback received from the ‘Street Fighter’ community to ensure that the game reflects what its players want. Ono is confident that the players will be overwhelmed with the characters in ‘Street Fighter V,’ as they have been made further unique. In addition, ‘Street Fighter V’ will permit cross-platform play, which, according to the developer, will “unite ‘Street Fighter’ fans into a centralized player base for the first time ever.”
