Huawei C199S launched in China for CNY 2,299 with Android 4.4 KitKat, 13 MP camera, 16 GB ROM

BEIJING: Huawei has launched the C199S smartphone for the Chinese market. The device is priced at 2,299 CNY and will be selling through its online store Vmall.

The new smartphone is the upgraded version of the C199. It has a similar design to C199, both have a metal rear panel.

Earlier the company launched the Ascend GX1, in China at CNY 1,590. The phablet sports  a 6-inch HD (720×1280 pixels) IPS display and runs Android 4.4 KitKat out-of-the-box.

It is powered by a 1.2 GHz 64-bit Snapdragon 410 (MSM8916) processor paired with 1GB RAM. It has 8MP rear and 2MP front camera.

Huawei is expected to unveil the P8 smartphone in March this year. The successor to the Ascend P7 is believed to feature a 5.2-inch Full HD resolution.

It will be powered by an octa-core Kirin 930 CPU paired with 3GB of RAM. It will also feature a fingerprint scanner and will have 32GB of native storage.

There were also reports that Huawei will drop the Ascend brand. Huawei will just carry the name Huawei alone, accompanied by the model number of the particular device.
