KARACHI: The Collectorates of MCC-Preventive, MCC-Hyderabad, MCC-Exports, MCC-Exports (Port Muhammad Bin Qasim), MCC-Quetta and MCC-Gwadar of Enforcement (South-Region) have altogether collected Custom Duty amounting Rs1423.23million altogether in the month of January-2015 against its set target of Rs1515.19 million with a shortfall of Rs91.96million in term of custom duty.
According to details, the MCC-Preventive has collected Rs1171.89million in term of custom duty in the month of January-2015 against its set target of Rs1172.42million with a slight shortfall of Rs0.53million.
The MCC-Hyderabad has collected an amount of Rs185.94million in term of custom duty in the month of January-2015 against its set target of Rs232.71million with a shortfall of Rs46.77million.
The MCC-Export has collected an amount of Rs366.64million in share of custom duty in the month of January-2015 against the set target of Rs401.55million with a shortfall of Rs34.91million.
The export (Port Muhammad Bin Qasim) has collected an amount of Rs29.20million in the month of January-2015 in share of custom duty against its set target of Rs409.24million with a decrease of Rs380.04million.
Furthermore, the MCC-Quetta has collected an amount of Rs52.29 million in share of custom duty in the month of Jan-2015 against its set target of Rs50.97million with an increase of Rs1.32million.
Meanwhile, the MCC-Gwadar has collected an amount of Rs26.51million in share of custom duty in the month of Jan-2015 against its set target of Rs66.78million with a huge decrease of Rs40.27million.
The sources informed Customs Today that the Chief Collector-Enforcement (South) Muhammad Nazim Saleem has asked the authorities concerned of all the relevant Collectorates to speed up the revenue collection in term of achieving custom duty with a view to attain the revenue target set by the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR).
It is pertinent to mention here that the all Collectorates of Enforcement (South) except MCC-Quetta have failed to achieve or surpass the revenue targets in the month of January-2015, which is certainly an alarming sign for the authorities concerned of the Enforcement (South) Region.
