NEW YORK: HTC has confirmed that Android Lollipop update is now available for Unlocked and Developer editions of the One (M7) smartphone in the United States. The update includes Android 5.0.2 base and Sense 6.0 UI.

The Carrier versions, however, will have to wait for long, as usual but the Lollipop update for the unlocked version of One (M7) is now ready and rolling out in at least one country, it is expected to reach other markets too in the coming days.

Back for current update roll-out, it is over 702MB in size and brings improvements to lock-screen and notifications as well as changes to recent apps UI and search within settings. You can also expect to see the Lollipop specifics changes like guest mode, ART as default runtime, performance enhancements and more. The update is available over-the-air and One M7 owners will automatically receive the notification on their smartphone or they can also check for the update manually by going to Settings > About Phone > Software Update.

Although the company has missed the self-imposed 90 days update deadline, but it is still quicker than some of the Android manufacturers like Sony, which are yet to release the Lollipop update for its flagship smartphones.
