Port Qasim handles 79147 tons cargo in 24 hours

KARACHI: Three ships carrying containers, G.Cargo and chemical berthed at Qasim International Containers Terminal, multi Purpose Terminal and Engro Vopak Terminal respectively. Meanwhile three more ships carrying containers and chemicals also arrived at outer anchorage of Port Qasim during last 24 hours. Berth occupancy was only 65% at the port on Monday where seven ships namely Safmarine Ngam, Fareast Harmony, Han Zai, Yong Tong 1, West Halmen, AS Olivia and Aretis are currently occupying berths to load/offload containers, live stock cow, chemical iron ore and edible oil respectively during last 24 hours.

A cargo volume of 79147 tons comprising 49322 tons imports and 29825 tons exports inclusive of containerized cargo carried in 1689 containers (TEUs) were handled at the port during last 24 hours.
