Now, we have received some fresh off-screen footage from Pokken Tournament’s arcade version in Japan. The video is a bit shaky but it gives a decent idea of what to expect from the game. Unlike other fighter games, Pokken is 3D and the camera constantly rotates depending on your character position.

To me, just by looking at this video, the camera angle felt a bit uncomfortable as I’m not used to such a style. Moreover, matchmaking seems to be rapid and within a few seconds the player was able to find a new challenger.

Moreover, instead of using traditional arcade joysticks and buttons, Pokken Tournament is being playtested using console like controllers. Strange choice, considering fighting games feel much more comfortable with traditional controls don’t you think?

Pokken Tournament will see a full release in Japanese arcades later this year. No western release is mentioned so far by Bandai Namco.

Check out the video above and share your views about the game with us in the comments below.
