ISLAMABAD: Pakistan has been offered 6,500 megawatts electricity by its three neighbours including China, India and Iran.

Sauces said that each of Beijing and Tehran can give Islamabad 3000MW electricity, while New Delhi is willing to give 500MW, which could help overcome Pakistan’s 8500MW shortfall in summer. They said that a Pakistani delegation will go to Iran in the end of February to discuss power tariffs. An MoU for import of 1000MW electricity through CASA-1000 has already been signed with Tehran, however Pakistan is insisting to decrease power tariffs after huge cut in international oil prices.
