Olson discusses release of two $716m CSF tranches, import of live cattle from US with Dar

ISLAMABAD: US Ambassador to Pakistan Richard Olson has called on Federal Finance Ishaq Dar and discussed recent release of two Coalition Support Fund (CSF) tranches of $716 million to Pakistan with him.

The ambassador congratulated the minister on successful holding of 6th IMF Review at Dubai last week. He said said that import of live cattle from US would begin shortly, as the matters regarding import of live cattle from US to Pakistan had also been settled with the relevant authorities.

Thanking the US Envoy, the Minister said it was a manifestation of the continued improvement in the national economy and added that in this review no waivers were asked for and no benchmarks were missing.

US Envoy on this occasion lauded ECC’s approval of Drug Policy, saying positive feedback on this development had been received from the US pharmaceutical companies. The Minister said that the policy was finalised after taking all stakeholders, specially the pharmaceutical industry on board and there has been very encouraging feedback within the country also.
