Dell releases updated version Chromebook 11, Venue 10 tablet with Android 5.0

NEW YORK: Dell has introduced an updated version Chromebook 11 and Android 5.0-powered Venue 10 tablet. The updated Chromebook will go on sale now in the United States as well as select other countries. On the other hand, Venue 10 will be available in spring 2015.

Dell is targeting these devices at both education market as well as retail consumers. “The classroom is changing quickly, and innovative technology is a major way for students to enjoy a collaborative educational experience. Education devices need to be really robust to make it through a school district’s life cycle. They also need to be powerful and flexible enough to suit individual learning needs, and make collaborating within the classroom simple. Our latest education solutions give students, teachers and IT managers the tools they need to provide an engaging learning experience,” said Sam Burd, vice president and general manager, Dell Personal Computing Product Group.

Talking about the specifics, second-gen Dell Chromebook 11 features a 11.6-inch display with 1366x768p resolution, dual-core Intel Bay Trail-M Celeron processor, 16GB of internal storage, 2/ 4GB of RAM and connectivity options like Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 4.0.

Coming to Dell Venue 10 tablet, it sports 10-inch HD/ FHD display, Android 5.0, 2GB of RAM and NFC support. Other specifications are unclear at this point.

Pricing:

The 2GB version of Dell Chromebook 11 has been priced at $249, and the 4GB version will retail for $299. There is no word on the price of Venue 10.
