LONDON: McLaren 675LT will officially roll out at Geneva Motor Show next month but image of the upcoming vehicle is leaked.

While the image, shot from the rear quarter, might not reveal much about the car’s pedigree, it does reveal that the LT will perhaps not live up to the name as much as we first thought.

LT stands for ‘Long Tail’; but it seems McLaren has borrowed the badge for its new model more so for the F1 GTR Long Tail to whom it pays tribute, rather than because the 675LT fits the description.

We’ll need to see more pics of the car before we can confirm that one, but we can confirm the supercar’s engine details – released by McLaren earlier this month.

The same 3.8 litre twin-turbocharged V8 from the ‘regular’ 650S model powers the 675LT, and as the name suggests, produces 675 PS (496kW).

Torque will top out at 700Nm, but the 675LT will limit torque to 600Nm in first gear in an attempt to save strain on the drivetrain and those expensive rear tyres.

The leaked image shows a redesigned rear, and the 675LT is said to have around 40 percent more downforce available to it than the 650S.

Performance figures are yet to be released, but a 0-100km/h in the vicinity of 3.0 seconds is expected.
