LAHORE: The National Transmission & Despatch Company Limited (NTDCL) and Korea Electric Power Company (KEPCO) have signed contract of consultancy. The purpose of the project is designing, engineering and construction supervision of 500 Kv Dasu transmission line.
Chief Engineer NTDCL Engr. Mahmood Ahmad and Vice President KEPCO Jae-Han Go signed the contract during a ceremony held at a local hotel.
While speaking on the occasion, General Manager (GSC) Abdur Razzaq Cheema said that Wapda had identified 26 potential hydropower project sites in northern areas. Dasu hydro power project is one of the identified sites on run-of-river Indus with total capacity of 4320 MW.
The project is to be developed in two stages each of 2160 MW. As per schedule, the first stage of the project will be completed by June 2019. The responsibility of NTDCL is to construct 500KV D/C transmission line from Dasu hydropower project to Islamabad via Mansehra for evacuation of 2160 MW Power at first stage.
