KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysia wants more cargo and passenger ships from all over the world to call at the Kuantan Port which is located in a strategic route, now known as the Maritime Silk Road.
Transport Minister Datuk Seri Liow Tiong Lai said the route – connecting China and other strategic locations in the region – was capable of improving the national economy, especially the tourism industry.
With extensive port facilities and easier access for ships to harbour, we are confident the Kuantan Port will attract cargo and passenger ships here.
