Afghanistan to host 21st summit on 1,680km TAPI gas project in Kabul: 30-year plan may complete in 2017

ISLAMABAD – Officials from Turkmenistan, Afghanistan, Pakistan and India are scheduled to organise the 21st summit of the 1,680 kilometers Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan-India (TAPI) gas pipeline project which will last for 30 years, within two months in Kabul. The TAPI project is scheduled to be completed around 2017.

This was disclosed by Rafiullah Sediqi, spokesman for the Ministry of Mines and Petroleum of Afghanistan. He said during this meeting the authorities of the countries involved in the project would fix the start date of the project. He added that this was a project for 30 years and every year Afghanistan would get millions of dollars for the transit. He added that thousands of Afghans would find job through this project.
