CCA launches training programme to polish young fast bowlers

KARACHI: The Customs Cricket Academy (CCA) has launched a training programme for young fast bowlers in a ceremony at the Karachi Gymkhana.

Former Test cricketer and first-ever ODI hat-trick holder Jalaluddin, who will supervise the trainings, explained the objectives of the programme and said that the talented young pace bowlers can develop and improve their abilities through this programme.

He described that two groups of under-17 bowlers have been selected, adding, apart from field training, the trainees will be given lectures from experts to understand various aspects of fast bowling such as physical fitness, mental toughness, bowling techniques and other tactics.

Qualified coaches will try to polish the young talent at the CCA in FB Area, Vital Five club ground in DHA and Jalaluddin Cricket Academy in Korangi. The training programme will begin from Sunday.

Nadeem Omar, the chief executive of Omar Associates, was the chief guest on the occasion while Khalil Masood, ex-member Pakistan Customs and founder of the CCA also graced the occasion.
