OTTAWA: The upcoming Ford GT supercar’s carbon fiber body will be produced in Canada by the Multimatic firm, a company which has worked with Ford for 30 years.

This is a global supplier of parts and engineering to various automakers and it has 12 plants in Canada, United States, Mexico, China and England. The first models will be rolling off the assembly line at the end of next year but production will be kept low, in probably a couple of hundred units, and the price tag will stand at approximately 200,000 USD.

The new generation of the Ford GT has been officially presented to the public in a premiere at the 2015 North American International Auto Show. The supercar was also brought to the Chicago automotive event and it has a twin turbo V6 mid-mounted engine under its hood, rated at 600 HP (447 kW). Power is being sent to the rear wheels through a 7-speed dual clutch transmission. We are not sure on how much time the new Ford GT supercar needs to reach 100 km/h or what top speed this has because the company hasn’t released any performance specifications. Production of the model will begin in 2016.
