LONDON: Toyota has wrapped off its all new next generation Hilux Invincible X pick-up truck against £23,842, which is expected to hit the markets in 2016.
The Invincible X is available exclusively in Double Cab form with Toyota’s 169bhp 3.0-litre D-4D diesel engine matched to either five-speed manual or automatic transmission. And as you would expect from a Hilux, Toyota has engineered this model for all conditions, with a permanent four-wheel drive system and an auto-disconnecting differential. The HiLux also benefits from a 2.8-tonne towing capacity.
For many car manufacturers adding the words invincible to the end of a car’s name would be too much like tempting fate, however Toyota has been doing just that with its top of the range Hilux for a while. Now there’s a new Hilux Invincible for rivals to content with, though, an even plusher version confidently called the ‘Invincible X’.
The Hilux Invincible X adds a range of personalisation options to the existing Toyota Hilux invincible specification. It’s powered but the 169bhp 3.0-litre D-4D diesel engine found in existing Hilux models and prices open at £23,842 (+VAT).

The Japanese car firm says the new model retains all the go-anywhere qualities that give the Hilux its ‘unbreakable’ reputation, but has added a series of new styling options so that customers can personalise their ‘super-tough’ pick-up. Making these add-ons even more appealing is the fact that they are available at no extra cost to the customer and are included in the price of the vehicle.
There is a long list of styling options to choose from with the Toyota Hilux Invincible X, including four 17-inch alloy wheel designs. These include the standard Invincible rim and a new Rica five-spoke design in all-black or two-tone finishes.
Chrome tubular sidebars are also part of the package, and customers can even choose to have step grips included according to their own personal preference.

The styling options continue with the option of a rear hi-over bar, or you can have the Style Pack fitted, adding a front guard, silver-coloured under-run, aluminium-finish scuff plates, chrome door handles and chrome surrounds for the bonnet air intake and rear lamp clusters.
Finally, Invincible X customers have the choice of four different colours for the leather seats that are fitted as standard: the basic Invincible black, or custom two-tone black with contrasting seatback and cushion inserts in grey, saddle tan or deep red. The custom designs are additionally embossed with the ‘X’ logo, while the full black upholstery bears the Invincible name.
As well as the aforementioned styling options, this new Hilux Invincible X also includes all of the features that can be found on the standard Hilux Invincible. That means you get sports front seats, climate control, cruise control, dusk-sensing headlights, front fog lights, rear privacy glass, a full set of airbags, Vehicle Stability Control, headlamp cleaners, a rear-view camera, electrically adjustable heated door mirrors and the Toyota Touch 2 touchscreen-controlled multimedia system, with Bluetooth.
Toyota is now taking orders for the Invincible X, and have priced the pick-up at £23,842 for the manual model and £24,842 for the automatic (+VAT).
