SYDNEY: All new next generation Infiniti QX30 concept ready to make its global premiere at the Geneva Motor Show on March 3.
The QX30 Concept has been designed to make occupants feel safe and protected inside, and customers can drive in or out of the city without worrying about nicks to the chromework.
Infiniti has handed down a new and more revealing look at its coming QX30 crossover, revealing a host of new details in the process.
As expected, the QX30 is largely identical to the earlier Q30. But, while the Q30 already boasts a high-riding design, the QX30 has been jacked up even further to create a true ‘compact SUV’ concept.
It remains to be seen if the production Q30 will retain its tall ride height – an approach similar to that taken by Citroen with the DS 4 – or if it will be lowered to become more of a conventional hatch.
As for the QX30, Infiniti has bulked up the concept’s body-kit, adding larger contrasting flares for that faux off-roading look, along with new side mouldings and a painted skid plate at the rear.
There’s also integrated roof rails up top, new 21-inch wheels down low and larger exhaust tips at the rear.
“We wanted the spontaneous fluidity of the QX30 Concept design to cut through the urban clutter and rigidity, reflecting its go-anywhere and spur-of-the-moment nature,” Infiniti design boss Alfonso Albaisa said.
