FBR freezes seven bank accounts of MLW, recovers Rs 4.8m

LAHORE: The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has frozen seven bank accounts of MLW Private Limited and recovered Rs 4.8 million from accounts of company.

These accounts of MLW were opened in Standard Chartered and Silk Bank. The company is a sales tax defaulter. The Regional Tax Office-II-FBR issued a number of reminder notices to the company’s office located in Gulberg 3 Lahore but the company was unwilling to pay sales tax.

Deputy Commissioner Naveed Akram on the directives of the assistant commissioner took this action against MLW Private Limited in which seven bank accounts of the company were seized after the recovery of Rs 4.8 million.

An official said that tax defaulters were given much time to pay their taxes; even notices were issued repeatedly. “Now the FBR has initiated action against defaulters and no relaxation will be given to them,” he said.
