23 products prohibited for Muslims being sold in country

ISLAMABAD: As many as 23 Prohibited products for Muslims are being sold in the country and National Assembly has shown serious concerns over the sale and purchase of such edibles openly in the markets of the capital and also at different petrol pumps.

It noted that there was no law in place to check the sale and purchase of such products. A government department provided complete list of 23 items over which there are doubts/surety to be called haram (prohibited for Muslims). These disclosers were made in National Assembly Standing Committee on Science and Technology, which held today its meeting in parliament house while Ch. Tariq Bashir Cheema on the chair. The committee take up calling attention notice moved by Shahida Akhter Ali MNA and others for the sale and purchase of prohibited edible items in the country. Ministry of Science and Technology provided complete list of 23 items over which the officials have some doubts and in some case surety that these products are prohibited for Muslims but openly available for sale in open market.
