“LG’s new mid-range collection continues our legacy of offering amazing smartphones at reasonable prices,” said Juno Cho, president and CEO of LG Electronics Mobile Communications Company. “For millions of consumers around the world, the deciding factor on which smartphone to buy isn’t how fast or how big it is but how balanced it is. With our new mid-range smartphones, more and more customers will be looking to LG for their next handsets.”

The line-up features four models – Magna, Spirit, Leon and Joy – each following LG’s philosophy of sleek design and smooth user experience. All the models are going to be launched with two network operating capacity, the 3G and LTE versions. To make a slight distinction the LTE models carry a metal looking back cover and the 3G phones coming out with patterned plastic back covers.

A major distinguishing factor among all these phones is the screen size each one of them carries. Magna (latin meaning: Ultimate) has a 5.0” in-cell touch display. Spirit having a 4.7” in-cell display screen and Leon and Joy carrying a 4.5”, 4.0” displays respectively. The in-cell touch displays bring in a lot of improvement in the way users interact with the phone. With faster touch responses, slimmer bezels leading to more display areas and better outdoor visibility and sharp image quality.

Magna may be a great catch for the ones very particular about high-quality selfies, as it features a 5MP front cam and 8MP main camera. All the other phones share the same processing capabilities with a 1.2/1.3 Quad-core chip sets. Magna also comes with a 2540 mAh battery, guaranteeing the phone is going to be fully functional even with constant usage

In this new line-up, LG has integrated popular UX features which initially were kept to only its high-end smartphone range; features like Gesture shot and Glance view. Improvements like gesture recognition even from a 1.5-meter range enable LG to appeal markets following newer trends like selfie sticks.

Glance View was made with the intention of making things easier for the users by letting them see the status of some important things happening like missed calls, text messages etc. This is possible with a single swipe down the screen even when the display is off!

With the current slump in the electronics market, LG is set to engage the market through this roll-out. Here’s to hoping that these smartphones live up to the expectations set by the specifications offered LG Electronics Mobile Division.
