Not only is the new engine expected to deliver better fuel economy, but also a mostly-flat torque curve. Peak twist is said to come on at 1,500 RPM and will remain consistent up to 4,500 RPM. A revised version of Hyundai’s variable valve timing is also expected on the new twin-turbo V6.

This isn’t the first time Hyundai has dabbled with turbocharging its 3.3-litre V6. At the 2011 Frankfurt Motor Show, Kia used the engine in its GT concept, pumping out 395 horsepower and 393 lb.-ft. of torque.
