6 officers, contractor booked for using low-quality material in Ashiana project

SIALKOT: The Anti-Corruption Establishment (ACE) has booked six senior officials of Housing and Physical Department and a contractor for using low-quality material in the construction of houses under Punjab government’s Ashiana Housing Scheme in Sialkot.

According to ACE Gujranwala Region Regional Director Dr Suhail Anwar Chaudhary, an ACE team conducted an inquiry into the public complaints regarding the usage of substandard construction material in Ashiana Housing Scheme Sialkot. He said that ACE team proved that the substandard material was used in the construction of house under the said scheme in Sialkot.

He said  that ACE has registered a corruption and fraud case against Deputy Director Housing & Physical Department Tahir Sultan, three Assistant Directors Arif Imtiaz, Muhammad Tahir Sultan, Malik Akhtar, sub-engineers Alam Sher, Manzur Hussain and government contractor Muhammad Shafiq.

He said that ACE has submitted detailed report before the Punjab government after registration of the case.
