LAHORE: Tax lawyers and income tax practitioners have urged the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) to settle the cases regarding jurisdiction changing applications of taxpayers, immediately.

Talking to Customs Today, tax lawyers said that taxpayers were facing problems in changing the jurisdiction from one regional tax office to another. They added that applications had been submitted to the related department months ago to change the jurisdiction of taxpayers, but all in vain.

They said that some taxpayers fell in the jurisdiction of RTO-II Lahore, but they had registration with RTO-I Lahore, which creates confusion among taxpayers at the time of filing the returns.

They said the office with which taxpayers have registration did not collect the returns, while the other office sent notices to the taxpayers for not filing the returns.

They urged the authorities to resolve the matter regarding jurisdictions of taxpayers immediately to eliminate the confusion.
