Lahore: Christians protest against Excise Department for issuing alcohol licences

LAHORE: The Christian community of Lahore under the banner of Maseha Millat Party protested at Lahore Press Club against the Excise Department.

On Friday noon, a large number of people gathered in front of the Lahore Press Club. The protesters chanted slogans against the department, saying they were involved in disgracing the community by issuing licences for sale of alcohol.

Maseha Millat Party President Willam Javed was leading the protest. During his address, he said that Excise officials are involved in issuance of permits in the name of Christian community. He alleged that the issuance of permits to get revenue is tantamount to disgracing Christians.
