NEW YORK: MacBook Pro 2015 will launch soon according to rumour. Apple has admitted that some previous generation MacBook Pro models have technical faults.

Several users have reported problems with previous generation MacBook Pro models sold between February 2011 and December 2013, reports Business Insider. One user even petitioned to get Apple to acknowledge the problem and fix it. Apple recently responded with its offer to fix the problem free of charge.

“Apple has determined that a small percentage of MacBook Pro systems may exhibit distorted video, no video, or unexpected system restarts. These MacBook Pro systems were sold between February 2011 and December 2013. Apple or an Apple Authorized Service Provider will repair affected MacBook Pro systems, free of charge,” Apple said on its website.

Affected computers will turn up blank screen even when powered or when connected to an external screen. Distortions and unexpected system restarts are other symptoms.

ITPro reports that the repair programme has already begun in US and Canada. UK users can get their computers fixed February 27 onwards. Users can either drop their computers at an Apple Retail Store or Authorized Service Provider participating in the repair programme. They can also request mail service to have their MacBooks shipped to the repair centre.

Meanwhile, rumors about the MacBook Pro 2015 suggest a launch anywhere as early as April and as late as June. Most reports suggest it would ship with TouchID and Ultra HD Retina Display.
