TORONTO: AGNITiO and fellow FIDO Alliance co-founder Nok Nok Labs have announced they are now offering FIDO ready products with the Universal Authentication Framework protocol, reported Biometricupdate.com.

The move makes AGNITiO the only voice biometrics firm with a FIDO ready UAF product.

“The theft of personal information is more prevalent today than ever before, and the only way to prevent it is to look beyond passwords, and move to truly multi-modal authentication protocols,” said AGNITiO CEO Emilio Martinez. “Nok Nok’s FIDO solutions allow us to simply and easily deliver FIDO-based solutions for our customers, bringing us closer to truly secure online transactions than ever before.”

The FIDO Alliance defines the FIDO UAF specification as providing a “passwordless” experience, in which users can use various biometric authentication methods, including voice, fingerprint or facial recognition, on their mobile device to securely log in and perform a transaction.

Upon being registered, users just need to repeat the local authentication action whenever they need to authenticate to a specific service.

Another benefit of FIDO UAF is that it allows for multi-factor authentication, where multiple authentication methods can be used in combination to boost security levels.

AGNITiO Voice iD and the NNL S3 Authentication Suite are now available to be integrated into a mobile application to perform voiceprint-based strong authentication, allowing users of online, mobile, and point-of-sale applications to easily access sites and services, and perform secure transactions.

“This partnership with AGNITiO is a major step on the path towards a more secure online environment that meets the needs of deploying organizations and users,” said Phillip Dunkelberger, CEO of Nok Nok Labs. “Now that the FIDO Alliance has released its final 1.0 specifications, we expect to see accelerated momentum. Offerings such as this voice biometric capability that combine ease of use and security will help to overcome the deficiencies of the insecure username/password scheme.”

Previously reported, Morpho added AGNITiO voice ID technology to its line of criminal identification biometric products to help global law enforcement agencies identify criminals and protect the lives of citizens.
