According to details, the Model of Customs Collectorate (MCC) Islamabad collector informed Customs Inspector Asif Nazir that a huge quantity of heroin was being smuggled through Qatar flight QR-399.

During checking, 7kg heroin was found on Pakistani passenger Muhammad Irfan, a resident of Gujranwala having passport number AD 1933442. The search was conducted under the supervision of Customs Inspector Muhammad Khurshid.

The drug was packed in polythene packs and concealed in hidden cavities of the suitcase.

After investigation, it was found that absconders Muzammil, Maroof and Irshad were involved in booking the seat and helping Irfan.

In the CNS court, the accused pleaded not guilty and alleged that the heroin was recovered from someone else, not him.

Due to clear evidence against him, the court ordered his imprisonment and a fine of Rs 50,000.

In case of non-payment of the fine, Irfan will have to serve another six months in jail.
