An official said that customs staff and clearing agents had to face problems while filing the Goods Declarations and other documents for trading consignments due to poor service of the Internet.

In the digital age, all trading activities are performed using the latest online software introduced by the Pakistan Customs Services instead of manual paperwork, he added.

At Wagha border, fresh items like tomatoes, garlic, ginger etc were imported from India that needed to be cleared immediately to save the fresh items’ consignments.

The official said that the authorities have taken this step to facilitate the traders, clearing agents and official staff, besides expediting the clearance procedure.
