LSE gains 70.24 points

LAHORE: Lahore Stock Exchange witnessed bullish trend by gaining 70.24 points, as the LSE Index-25 opened with 4840.57 points and closed at 4910.81 points.

The market’s overall situation, however, did not correspond to an upward trend as it remained at 2.759 million shares to close against previous turnover of 3.225 million shares, showing a downward slide of 466,000 shares. While, out of the total 112 active scrips 39 moved up, 8 shed values and 65 remained equal.

Major gainers of the day were Pakistan State Oil Company Limited, Century Paper and Board Mills Limited, Fauji Fertilizer Bin Qasim Limited by recording increase in their per share value by Rs 5.51,  Rs 2.57 and Rs 2.13 respectively.

Adamjee Insurance Company Limited, Nishat (Chunian) Limited and Nishat Mills Limited lost their per share value by Rs 1.69, Rs 1.12 and Re 0.70 respectively.
Top three volume leaders of the day included The Bank of Punjab Limited with 494,000 shares, NIB Bank Limited with 452,000 shares and Pakistan International Airline Corporation with 324,000 shares.
