NEW YORK: A man involved in a thwarted attempt to smuggle nearly 2 tons of pot in a tractor-trailer by circumventing the U.S. Border Patrol checkpoint on North Interstate 35 in October pleaded guilty in federal court in Laredo.
An indictment filed Aug. 19 charged Teodoro “Boss” Lopez with conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute 100 kilograms or more of marijuana and six counts of possession with intent to distribute 1,000 kilograms or more of marijuana.
