LAHORE: The Pakistan Customs’ Land Freight Unit (LFU) at Wagha has collected nearly Rs 475 million tax revenue during February under the head of sales tax, duty tax and income tax.
As per details, the Pakistan Customs in February received almost Rs 8 million less than the collections of January, which stood at Rs 483 million.

The LFU Wagha collected Rs 148 million as duty tax during February on imports from India, while it had collected Rs 136 million in January.

Moreover, Rs 163 million was collected as sales tax during January, while the collection in February was Rs 186 million. Collection under this head increased by Rs 23 million as compared to the preceding month.

Similarly, LFU Wagha collected Rs 0.11 million as regulator duty, Rs 8.16 million as additional sales tax and Rs 132 million as income tax during February.

Sources said that revenue collections declined due to cut in import of fresh items from India to Pakistan via Wagha border.
