Australia sells 90,424 cars in Feb 2015, sets new record, Toyota stands first with 2861 sales, Mitsubishi second with 1988, Ford 3rd with 1953

MELBOURNE: Australia is being an emerging market for auto makers as car selling ratio in Australia increasing day-by-day. Australian car sellers witnessed a 4.2 percent increase in its sale in February 2015 as compeered to the February 2014. In February 2015 Australia sold around 90,424 cars.

In that ratio Toyota Hilux secured the top place with 2861sales, Mitsubishi with Triton model sold 1988 units and Ford with awesome truck Ranger 1953 units comes third. Light commercial car sales increased 2.7%.

Overall, it was the Toyota Corolla that was the number one selling vehicle with 3939 sold, followed by the Mazda3 with 3598, Toyota Hilux (2861), Holden Commodore (2517) and Hyundai i30 (2126).

Toyota was the highest selling brand with 18% market share, Mazda in number two with 10%, Hyundai 8.9%, Holden 8.6% and Mitsubishi 6.9%.

It wasn’t all good news, with the passenger vehicle genre down 6.6% compared to February last year. Highlighting the move to more compact offerings, nearly half of the vehicles sold came from the small segment.

Sales grow 2.6% in Australian Capital Territory, 5.1% in New South Wales, 10.9% in the Northern Territory, 4.9% in Queensland, 6.1% in South Australia, 11.6% in Tasmania and 5.7% in Victoria.

1.) Toyota – 16,243 sales (up 0.3 percent)

2.) Mazda – 9,057 (down 1.2 percent)

3.) Hyundai – 8,003 (up 2.6 percent)

4.) Holden – 7,809 (down 10.2 percent)

5.) Mitsubishi – 6,242 (up 33.3 percent)

6.) Nissan – 5,984 (up 34.2 percent)

7.) Ford – 5,022 (down 20.1 percent)

8.) Volkswagen – 4,889 (up 11.7 percent)

9.) Subaru – 3,223 (up 3.3 percent)

10.) Honda – 2,901 (up 9.0 percent)
