Appraisement-West collects over Rs 16.59 billion revenue in February

KARACHI: The Model Customs Collectorate (MCC) of Appraisement-West has collected Rs 16,591.26 million in February against the set target of Rs 15,394.92 million, including customs duty, sales tax, income tax and federal excise duty (FED).

According to revenue statistics, the Appraisement-West collected Rs 6.258 billion against the set target of Rs 6.437 billion (approx) with a shortfall of Rs 178.98 million in February.

The collectorate collected Rs 7.601 billion under the head of sales tax against the set target of Rs 6.282 billion (approx) with a surplus of Rs 1.319 billion.

The Appraisement-West also collected Rs 2.602 billion under the head of income tax against the set target of Rs 2.585 billion (approx) with a surplus of Rs 17.08 million.

The collectorate collected revenue of Rs 129 million under the head of federal excise duty against the set target of Rs 91.21 million with a surplus of Rs 37.79 million.

Appraisement-West Collector Muhammad Saleem is satisfied with the performance of the officials of the collectorate in connection with the revenue collection in the second month of the third quarter of the fiscal year 2014-15. He also urged the authorities concerned of the collectorate to further expedite the pace of revenue generation for getting more effective results.

It is pertinent to mention here that it was the second consecutive time in the third quarter of the fiscal year 2014-15 that the MCC-Appraisement-West has surpassed the revenue target.
