ISLAMABAD: Pakistan would receive 325mmcfd of LNG on April 1, 2015 while the quantity will gradually reach 400 mmcfd by the end of the year, a meeting was told.
The meeting was chaired by Finance Minister Ishaq Dar. The LNG will be used in power sector to replace expensive fuel. Dr Waqar Masood, the secretary finance, gave an update on the implementation status of various initiatives.
He said that a number of them had already been implemented and progress of various degrees on others had been achieved. The minister was informed that in pursuance of his directives, the Sales Tax refund cheques amounting Rs 10.187 billion were issued to Textile sector on Sept 30, 2014 thus disposing all the verified claims as filed by June 30, 2014.
