49.19% females of 199m population: RCCI marks Int’l Women Day

RAWALPINDI: The Rawalpindi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (RCCI) has organised several events, including paintings exhibition, showcase of products created by women entrepreneurs as various stalls were also setup in the Chamber to celebrate the International Women Day.

PML-N Senator Najma Hameed was the chief guest of the ceremony, while RCCI President Syed Asad Mashadi, former presidents Sheikh Shabbir, Sohail Altaf, Kashif Shabbir, RCCI Women Entrepreneur Committee Chairperson Uzma Salman, renowned educationist Riffat Mushtaq, executive committee members and large number of women members of RCCI were also present there.

Speaking on the occasion, Najam Hameed said that organizing such tremendous events by the Chamber must be appreciated and RCCI only has distinction among others by its uniqueness.

She said that Chamber’s approach towards women empowerment can be beneficial for those women who want to start their businesses. She said that women of twin cities can take benefits from the Rawalpindi Chamber to promote their business as Chamber is making all out efforts to promote women entrepreneurs.

RCCI President Syed Asad Mashadi said that no nation can make progress without the progress of women. Rawalpindi Chamber always welcomed women to participate in Chamber’s activities to bring change in businesses.

According to the World Bank, female population in Pakistan was last measured at 49.19% of total 199 million population.
