LONDON: Global warming isn’t going anywhere, according to a new report that says due to the increase in manufacturing and production in places like India – the rate at which temperatures increase over the course of the next several decades will continue to increase – if they do not spike dramatically in the coming days. The study has shown that the rate at which the planet has naturally heated up over the last several thousand years is significantly less than what is expected to be seen in the coming years and decades.
The study even points out that people will have to adapt to living in a warmer world, and that certain things that have become staples within the modern world might be challenged, as coastlines, and water supplies are changed and stressed with the changing climate. Steve Smith of the Department of Energy’s Pacific Northwest National Laboratory pointed out that, “We focused on changes over 40-year periods, which is similar to the lifetime of houses and human-built infrastructure such as buildings and roads,” going on to point out that “in the near term, we’re going to have to adapt to these changes.”
And warmer it will get, according to the report. Interestingly, a specifically hotter climate isn’t the only product of climate change and global warming. In fact, as greenhouse gases are emitted and also cause more damage within our atmosphere, weather patterns will also become more extreme, and more violent – ultimately increasing the human toll within the global warming conversation. However, even with a rising global temperature – scientists aren’t absolutely certain what outcome that might have on the planet and how the changes might manifest throughout the planet.
