MELBOURNE: D-Link entered into a partnership with Globalgig, and now offering 4G mobile broadband users an excellent solution that works straight out of the box.

You just insert the Globalgig 4G SIM card that comes in the box into the DWR-922, register it with Globalgig, select a plan and then you’re good to go – it’s that simple. Once connected to a Globalgig plan, you can immediately use the DWR-922 to check e-mails, surf the web, transfer data, stream media, make VoIP calls and send SMS messages.

The router includes a port that allows a standard phone handset to be used with VoIP services.

“In today’s data-hungry world, connectivity is king. By partnering with Globalgig, we are now offering 4G mobile broadband users an excellent solution that works straight out of the box,” said D-Link MD Graeme Reardon.

“You just insert the Globalgig 4G SIM card that comes in the box into the DWR-922, register it with Globalgig, select a plan and then you’re good to go – it’s that simple.

“Once connected to a Globalgig plan, you can immediately use the DWR-922 to check e-mails, surf the web, transfer data, stream media, make VoIP calls and send SMS messages.

“Globalgig 4G mobile broadband plans are excellent value, available month-to-month and there are no lock-in contracts, so our partnership means it couldn’t be simpler to get a 4G LTE VoIP Router and mobile broadband that is low cost, effective and efficient.”

Globalgig provides internationally-usable 3G and 4G data plans that shouldn’t break the bank. 4G service is available in Australia and the UK, with 3G in other countries.

Globalgig 4G data plans start at $4.99 a month for 250MB of data within Australia, or $10 for 1GB. Excess data is 2c per megabyte.

When you’re travelling, each megabyte used in Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Liechtenstein, Monaco, Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, San Marino, Sweden, Spain, Switzerland, United Kingdom, USA, or Vatican City costs 10c.

That rate increases to 25c in Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Estonia, Greece, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, New Zealand, Poland, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, or Turkey.

When travelling overseas it may be more sensible to temporarily switch to either the Go Europe+USA plan that starts at 250MB for $20, or the Go Global plan covering 80 countries and starting at $30 for 250MB. See the company’s web site for more details.
