MULTAN: The Federal Revenue Alliance has asked Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif to order the release of their big city allowance immediately from the date of announcement.

Central Deputy Secretary Tahir Khakwani chaired a meeting of the Federal Revenue Alliance at the Multan Regional Tax Office, which was attended by a large number of employees of the RTO.

The agenda of the meeting was payment of big city allowance to government employees.

Tahir Khakwani said that the government should pay allowances that had been announced while issuing a notification to declare Multan as a big city.

He said that the government must fulfil the promise made to the government employees regarding the special allowance, while the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) must also ensure that the big city allowance was paid.

He said that the government had sufficient funds for the payment of big city allowance, but the authorities were continuously making lame excuses of financial constraints. He said that the employees of lower ranks were living hand to mouth due to their poor financial conditions, so the government should immediately release their promised big city allowance.
