MULTAN: Customs Adjudication Collector Saleem Ahmad Ranjha will decide on March 19 the case of SM Food Makers in mis-declaration of goods involving customs duty of Rs 4.7 million.
The Customs Adjudication collector adjourned the hearing of case for final decision.
Saim Mobeen Food Makers was allegedly involved in the case of mis-declaration of their imported steel iron rods used in the baking of their biscuits. The company had release their mis-declared goods on the payment of principal amount.
The company had evaded custom duty of Rs 4.7 million through mis-declaration of their imported goods by presenting invoice of 12,700 euro instead of 127,000 euro.
The Customs Intelligence and Investigation office in Multan registered a case against the company and seized the goods.
The hearing of the case was almost complete, but due to unnecessary delay on part of the accused, the collector got an extension from the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) for hearing the case twice.
