KARACHI: Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) Assistant Director Mian Asif has left for Lahore after recording final statements of customs officials regarding pharmaceutical raw material case.
The FIA assistant director will submit the statements of those customs officials who are allegedly involve in clearance of pharma raw material.
The FIA will also keep the federal drug authority on board regarding the final statements of customs officials.

It is pertinent to mention here that the authorities of the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) have already contacted the Ministry of Commerce and the FIA in this regard.
The customs officials have already taken protective bail against the verdict of the Lahore judicial magistrate in which it ordered to conduct legal action against those customs officials who were involved in clearance of pharmaceutical raw material without the consent of the federal drug authority.
In this regard, the customs authorities have a clear stance that the Import Policy Order, 2013, allows them to clear pharmaceutical raw material without scrutinising the drug licence of the importer.
