At last Verizon to release Nexus 6 on March 12 online, 19th in stores

LONDON: A Verizon representative has just revealed the release date of the Nexus 6 on the network, revealing the date when the flagship will be available in stores, as well as online. Hopefully, the carrier will stick to these dates and not delay this release any further unless they really have to.

The Nexus 6 release cycle has been a vicious one. Google allowed every carrier to release the device however they pleased, with whatever amount of bloat ware and branding each carrier saw fit. This stirred up some controversy because the Nexus 6 is supposed to offer a near-stock experience, as close to pure Android as you can get. Obviously, branding the device or shipping it with pre-installed software defeats that purpose and we can expect no less from Verizon. Another downside of this is that every carrier took its time and released the Nexus 6 whenever they pleased, leading to different release dates for the device. Verizon Wireless is the last carrier set to release Google’s flagship, and the release date has been speculated for months since its initial announcement in October. Verizon is set to include various bits of software on the Nexus 6 pre-installed, and it’s also going to put its logo on the back of the device, which is no big surprise.

The release dates are coming from a chat with a Verizon representative listed as Beth M. While a simple Verizon employee can reveal some plans by accident or on purpose, keep in mind that this information is by no means confirmed or official, and you shouldn’t set your expectations too high. Verizon Wireless has postponed the release date of Google’s Nexus 6 a lot of times already, and it could very well do it again. The device is one of the most sought-after android handsets and also one of the highest quality products you can buy if you’re looking for a relatively pure Android experience. As the title of this article suggests, the alleged release dates of the device are the 12th of March (online) and the 19th (in stores).
