LONDON: Google has decided to say good bye to Nexus 5 device from the market as it has now put more focus on its new smart gadget Google Nexus 6 which is now available for pre-order on Verizon.
The news shouldn’t come as that big of a surprise to anyone for a few reasons. First, there was talk toward the end of 2014 that Google was planning to discontinue the Nexus 5. Last year, a Google spokesperson was quoted as saying that, “once they are gone, they’re gone, so we’d suggest people get them while they can.”
That time has now come. Google told The Verge this week that “while some inventory of Nexus 5 still exists (with our retail and carrier partners), our focus is on the Nexus 6 at this time.”

If you’re been eyeing the Nexus 6, Verizon users can pre-order the Motorola smartphone starting today before it lands in stores on March 19. It will set you back $250 with a new two-year contract (or $27.08 each month for members of Verizon Edge).
You can also buy the unlocked version of the smartphone from Google. It works on Verizon’s network without issue, though you’ll have to pay the full cost of the off-contract device up front ($649).
Verizon notes that those purchasing the Android 5.1-based smartphone prior to to the end of the month will get a free six-month subscription to Google Play Music—which turns into a $10/month subscription, should you forget to cancel. That isn’t a Verizon-exclusive promotion, however; Google’s online store makes the same offer.
